In India, At the box office, Jodi started to slow as it got a low domestic response. The main point is the film did not get many shows on its opening day. Sacnilk, the industry tracker assumed the film could only earn Rs 65 lakh. But the film has earned Rs 4 crore gross in the domestic market, after four days of release. The film’s overseas collection stands at Rs 8 crore taking its overall collection to Rs 12 crore, the publication revealed.

Before its release, Jodi faces some controversy in the domestic market. This movie is based on the life of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his second wife Bibi Amarjot Kaur. The film found itself in legal trouble after Patiala-based Ishdeep Randhawa moved to court claiming that Chamkila’s first wife Gurmail Kaur had already sold the exclusive rights to make Chamkila’s biopic to his father Gurdev Singh. Whether Gurdev Singh passed away in November 2022.
